From my reading of "The Road Not Taken" I gather that the speaker, the man traveling down the road, is unsatisfied with his choice. Though he spends much of the poem talking about the road he did choose, the title of the poem reveals something different...his mind is on the road he did not take.
Some may argue that in the last stanza of the poem, the speaker gives a sigh of contentment, but I would argue that a sigh can also indicate regret or yearning. It isn't clear, based on evidence from the poem, that the speaker is happy about where he ended up. For all we know he ended up in a bad place, maybe made some bad choices further on in his journey. In the end, he looks back upon his decision with regret: "If only I had taken the road NOT taken.
